Why Does It Matter?
We have two words for you. YOUR FANS! You create the music and you want people to listen to it. Without a recording, how are they going to do that? Have your music ready for YOUR FANS at shows so they can take it home with them. This way they can download it, burn it, and pass it to the next spreading the word about "THIS GREAT BAND YOU HAVE TO HEAR!!!!!!!!" Without something tangible in their hands after your show, it's up to fate and memory if they ever hear you again or not. That simply won't do for a band trying to get somewhere. It's more than a recording too, it's a promotional tool to use as a demo for your band to get more gigs. Think about it, if your fans can't listen to you, why would they tell all their friends about this GREAT BAND? What about all the people who haven't heard you yet? Put it in YOUR FANS hands and let them spread the word! The music is the point and getting it to the people is the goal. Without fans there are no shows, SO GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT, YOUR MUSIC!
How can I/We afford recording?
If you haven't read the above paragraph, do so now. The answer is YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TOO, and that is why Current Recordings exists. Current Recordings is an affordable way for start up and motivated bands to get a high quality recording of their music, with minimal cost or effort on the bands part. Period.
